Concept through construction
Architecture
Commercial, residential, industrial, institutional. Concept, drawings, permits and construction administration.
Escobar has practised as a registered architect in Québec since 1992, after studying at the Université de Montréal and Columbia University in New York. His first significant commission came from winning the City of Montreal’s first open architecture competition at twenty-six, against more than twenty established firms.
The work spans heritage-sensitive interventions in Old Montreal through to industrial and institutional buildings. What is consistent is the insistence that a building has to answer to its street as much as to its brief.
